Wahoo! We are going here:

Sometimes… living with a professional photographer is a pain in the ass. S asked me to make sure to note that I took these photos and that they were not photographed by her. Snob.
- Mojo got a shorty-short hair cut and now looks like an Alien.
- It has only rained enough to get my truck dirty.
- The Albuquerque Public Schools Superintendent has given her notice and the entire city is on fire with questions and concerns. It’s made for some interesting fodder on all education blogs and within media resources. Her “retirement” caught me by surprise.
- I ran into my buddy, Joe, at work the other day. It was so nice to hear my name said in a friendly manner. It was his birthday. Happy Birthday, Joe! Now he knows where I’m working and probably expects me to bring him something nummy for the next BOE meeting. (Anytime, Joe; anytime!)
- These lame posts are brought to you by one sorry and sorely-assed barista who is finding little time to blog other than the APS scandals. Well, okay, it’s not really my fault. APS has been in the papers every single freakin’ day and that has kept me quite busy on my other blog.
- Summer is here and we are going to escape to the fog. I can hardly wait but we had to dig out our winter-wear. I’ll be in sweatpants and sweatshirts this time next week.
- S just came in and put her hand on my shoulder and gave me a lil’ kiss on the cheek and told me that I make really great coffee. Thanks, hon. I’ve been practicin’ a whole bunch.
- I saw a coyote and her two babies on my street late last night as I was driving home from work. They looked to be about two-three months old and were adorable. And… probably out looking for a late-night kitty-snack. It’s a good thing The Alien was in the house!
- I took Lulu to get her shots updated this morning at freakin’ 7:30AM! (I didn’t get home from work until midnight last night.) I just love Aztec Animal Clinic. I don’t even care that they are on the other side of Albuquerque and that it takes me 30 minutes to get there. They are so wonderful and totally fell in love with Lulu. Lil’ Missy Fatty-Fatty-Two-By-Four has lost 1.5 pounds since May. That’s like… I dunno… 12 pounds in people poundage. She’s on a restricted “Senior” diet food regime since I am no longer feeding Mojo puppy food. She’d also eaten an ENTIRE LEMON MERINGUE PIE in that timeframe so I’m totally surprised that she’s actually lost weight. Bugger! But she’s a healthy bugger, according to Dr. Delgado. (I just read that Dr. Delgado specializes in “pocket pets.” WTF is that? I shoulda asked her… and then commented on ballet, or something.) I just wish I could find a family practice Doc as good as our new veterinarians.
- I’ve lost an entire pant size since starting work four weeks ago. Now all of my “uniform” pants don’t fit and I have to cinch ‘em up with a belt. I guess there could be worse things…
- S told the boys we are going on vacation. I hear they are excited. I haven’t actually seen them for three days. I miss them and by this time next week, I, um, won’t be missing them anymore. (hahaha… YOU try vacationing with three kids, one regular dog, and one alien!)
- My “markout” (free) coffee this week is Arabian Mocha Sanani and, man, is it good. We had a coffee tasting and paired it with berry and chocolate pastries. It is really amazing and… expensive (grown in Yemen) so I was only allowed a half of a pound versus the usual pound. That’s okay with me; we’ll be taking our french press with us while on vacation and I can hardly wait to be sipping hot, spicy, berry, earthy, extra bold coffee… while sitting on the beach. Eat your heart out. And, hey, did you know you can go to your local Starbucks and request a coffee tasting? It’s free and really helps you get to know the coffees. I intend upon trying all of them. So far, I’m partial to all of the Africa/Arabian coffees. I usually sugar and cream my coffee but I like the Sanani so much that I can drink it black. Black!
And that’s the short of it… the long of it is yet to come.

Everyone knows that I take all of the pictures you post on your blog.
I just want to make sure credit is given where credit is due. I am so totally not a snob.
If you’re going to be picky about semantics dear then make sure to also note that I was the one that scanned them in and post processed them in photoshop.
Wahoo, we’re gonna have fun, aren’t we?
Remember, when we’re not driving, we’re shooting. Don’t be intimidated by the buttons, they don’t bite!
I believe “dear” should be capitalized.
(hehehe)
Whatever. I already chewed S out for visiting my favoritest place on earth and then teasing me with the photos.
I so cannot believe you are going there. So beautiful. So fun. So perfectly perfect for kids.
I’m green right now. Greener than Kermit.
Natalie..
I am so glad to hear about the job,How cool.
It sounds like S has gotten some photography shoots, that sounds good too.Looks like life in Alb. has been good for all of you.Enjoyed reading the last few entries. You still have the gift of entertaining writing.LOL
Hope the vacation is wonderful, safe trip.

Where ya’s going? where ya’s going? A beach? in NM? OK, so I’m guessing southern California but maybe not?
I so want to vacation – now that I know we’re not stuck at home this summer, we may head north to Canada’s tropics – Okanagan wine country – in August.
Anyhoo, have a great vay-cay….
I’ll catch up on your APS blog next week – great way to avoid unpacking.
I hear ya on not missing the boys. Holy Son went to boy scout camp last week – we missed him like crazy. He’s home now. Oh boy is he ever. We now plot ways to get rid of him again…we are moving into a very quiet neighborhoood – a couple of teen kids and some pre-schoolish only children. None with siblings close in age in elementary and middle school that love/hate each other like that cat/dog cartoon where’re they’re joined at the hip bone.
God they’re loud in an empty, echoe-y house….wonder where they get that from?
PS – too funny about the photo credit note – I see both sides of the story but to be honest, these don’t even look like S pix anyways….
whatever that looks like but usually S would zoom in on an ant on a the jutting rock or a droplet of water in the bay or something….I think? I dunno. I’ll stay out of it.
I am so jealous, a vacation would be so nice! Thoe pics by the way are so beautiful it makes me crave the ocean!
You mean she didn’t check with you before she retired? How rude is that!
That looks like a great place to vacation. Don’t know about taking 3 kids though. LOL
Just about everybody I know around here would have shot the coyotes. I know, it’s sad, but they’re a menace.
LOVE YA GIRL, miss ya., wish i could see you out in Cali…..but its one helluva drive for a day off inbetween my work days. We just got back from vegas, I went with ryan and his girl. it was a blast. have a great time. write soon.
karbear
What’s the matter it getting too hot for you?? LOL, it has been a bit muggy down here lately, but I feel like I can’t complain I am not working outside this year. Enjoyed the catch up, figures you will be out of town, we are going to be there this weekend. LOL. I am thinking breakfast at the frontier, Huevos followed by a cinnamon roll.
Have a great vay-cay!!!! You’re so lucky!!!!
I wanna know how you both managed to get time off new jobs already???
i think your photos are beautiful. and i am so JEALOUS that you get to go this place with the crashing waves. why the hell do i live in iowa? makes me mad.
so… it’s good news that the APS super is retiring, right? it sounds like there is a growing push toward reform. maybe a new, reform-minded super is just what you need.
and you’re a barista! cool job!
Have a terrific trip! M.E. and I are going to Chicago on 8/1 for the Daily Kos convention and beyond to revisit my original hometown. Chitown in August. Whew!
